Description
A.Uvitech’s engineering team has more than 20 years of experience in the design and
manufacturing of switched filter banks. Naturally, most switched filter banks are customized. There
are many reasons to use switched filters banks instead of a combination of separate filters and
switches. Significant points to be considered are:
• Describing your design target. A .Uvitech will optimize the number of channels and the cutoff
frequencies.
• A significant part of integration will be included in a single component.
• Reduce insertion loss, ripple and size by eliminating the need for coaxial cable between separate
filters and switches.
A .Uvitech’s switched filter banks are either a bank of low-pass or band-pass filters. A bank of lowpass
filters is a good solution to reduce the harmonic levels of a wideband system. A bank of bandpass
filters can separate a wideband to a narrower band. In some cases high-pass and band-stop
filters are used. There are numerous types and configurations of A .Uvitech switched filters banks.
The number of channels is from two to eight up to a frequency range of 18 GHz. The technology
incorporates lumped elements, combline, interdigital, miniature cavity, and printed circuit filters.
The switches are based on PIN diodes, GaAs, Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs) ,
or relays, depending on frequency and switching speed.
The driver is the interface between the user and the switched filter bank. Generally, the user defines
a logic code. The driver applies the correct voltage and current to the switches so that one filter is
connected from the input to the output port, while the other filters are disconnected.
